History of Foreign Car Clinic & Parts, Inc., Melbourne, Florida


Foreign Car Clinic was started in 1969 by Franz Brett with the commitment to outstanding customer service, through quality parts, the latest equipment, information and knowledge to repair today's complex automobiles. In 1973 it moved to it's present location at 2101 Aurora road, Melbourne, Florida. In the summer of 1973 Franz hired a young mechanic named Bruce Williams who had just moved to Florida from California unknowing that ten years later Bruce would purchase the business so that Franz could spend full time in his used car business. In the beginning Foreign Car Clinic specialized primarily in the repair and service of the Volkswagen beetle and it's counterparts the Volkswagen van, the type III & IV Volkswagen squarebacks which were some of the first gas fuel injected production cars in the world. In 1983 after graduating from Rollins college Bruce Williams accepted Franz's offer to purchase Foreign Car Clinic. As Foreign Car Clinic began to see the demise of the Volkswagen Bug in the early 80's they began to expand their specialties into other gas and diesel European cars, then into the expanding Japanese auto repair market until today when they work on all makes and models domestic and foreign.
